9 Languages, 646K+ Opens, $50K MRR in a Quarter

What lifecycle governance looks like when it has to hold across 35 emails, 7 in-app flyouts, 9 language versions, and Klaviyo's largest event in five years — all in the same quarter.

CONTEXT

The Sales-led Lifecycle Lead role wasn't one channel or one audience. It was Brand, Events, Partners, SMB, and Mid-Market — simultaneously. Every quarter meant coordinating 9 squad teams, producing releases in up to 9 language versions, and making sure comms across all of those teams didn't stack, overlap, or degrade deliverability. In 2025 that also meant doing all of this while returning Klaviyo's flagship customer conference (K:BOS) after a five-year absence.

THE WORK

K:BOS 2025 — Klaviyo's Flagship Event, Returning After 5 Years

Built and executed the complete lifecycle motion for K:BOS from scratch. This wasn't campaign support — it was end-to-end ownership of how Klaviyo communicated with its entire customer and prospect base around the event. That included:

  • 35 unique email assets built and launched across pre-event, livestream, and post-show phases

  • 7+ in-app flyouts launched inside the Klaviyo product during the event window

  • K:Service trial, cross-sell, and promo announcement comms (new product, built from scratch)

  • WhatsApp launch comms and a triggered intent play — coordinated to align with the product's public launch date

  • Updated existing always-on flows (Lead:MQL, Demo Request) with new B2C CRM branding and Enterprise portfolio messaging — ensuring the event lifted the always-on baseline, not just the event sends

  • Partner marketing comms: acquisition, activation, and enablement messaging for the agency ecosystem

646K+ unique opens and engagements across the full K:BOS lifecycle.

Q3 Quarterly Release — $50.3K Attributable MRR, 9 Languages

Each quarterly release required building and launching simultaneous versions in US English, UK English, Partner, ANZ, SG/APAC, French, German, Italian, and Spanish — with segment-specific content for Enterprise, SMB, and Mid-Market where applicable. Q3 2025 results:

  • $50.3K total attributable Lifecycle MRR: $39.7K NewCo · $10.6K Customer Growth

  • K:AI alone: $11.4K attributable MRR from a single CTA

  • Open rates: US 19.3% · UK 29% · Partner 20.7% · ANZ 36% · CTR: Partner 7.9% (highest)

  • French, German, Italian, Spanish versions all produced above-average CTR for non-English markets

The Governance Framework Underneath

None of the above was sustainable without operational rules to prevent nine squad teams from inundating the same audiences simultaneously. The framework I built in Q4 2024 became the COE standard through end of tenure:

  • Communication cap: ≤3 emails/week per contact + 1 transactional if needed

  • Prioritization tier: Brand #1 · Segment Squads #2 · Events/Community #3

  • Audience overlap protocol: impacted IMMs informed before any dual-audience send could proceed

  • Tightened transactional definitions — eliminating teams gaming the "transactional" label to bypass limits
